The A to Z of me - Laustworld

I have seen the A to Z idea floating around several blogs. I'm not sure who started it, I thought it would be fun to get close and personal. Get to know a little bit more about me.
Let's jam!

A is for Anime

I don’t tend to watch many films, nor I am a fan of many television series. However, there is a soft spot for anime in my heart.

The beauty of anime is that there is a genre for everyone.

You like cute girl romance – check! Bloodshed and violence – check! Intense sport competition – check! I can’t get enough of it.

B is for Bilingual

Sometimes I forget that I can speak to languages. Yup, Lithuanian and English.

Maybe someday I will learn another language, but what could it be?

C is for Coffee

Coffee the elixir of life, the epitome of living, the liquid that my poor heart despises.

Mornings are not the same without a cup of coffee. For me, drinking coffee has turned into somewhat a self-care ritual.

D is for Diabetes

My pancreas is dead. Hooray! I was diagnosed with Diabetes (type 1) on March 31st, 2017.

When I rang my family to tell that I was admitted to a hospital, they thought that it was an early April fools joke.

I’ve become used to constant injections, blood tests and watching carbohydrates and sugar. It’s part of life now.

E is for Essex

This ever-famous part of England is where I have spent most of the time living in.

My secondary school days were spent strolling in the streets of Essex where the smell of fried chicken forced its way into my nostrils, travelling on buses packed with orange oompa loompas and being laughed at for sounding ‘too posh’.

Fabulous place.

F is for Face masks

Putting on a face mask is a fantastic way to spend 20 or so minutes to yourself.

It’s relaxing, therapeutic and plus it’s great for your skin too.

I love to put on a face mask when I’m not feeling 100%.

G is for Gigs

Music gigs are such a fun experience.

I remember as a teenager, I used to be in the line, hours before the doors opened just so I could get that wonderful first row.

Times have changed, I am an old 21 year old granny who would rather sit in a comfortable seat than be crushed by screaming bodies.

H is for Hydrangeas

I really like hydrangeas, I think that they are beautiful flowers.

I is for Individualism

There is nothing worse than being a member of a flock.

Whether it’s related to thoughts, behaviour or something else, forgetting that you are an individual is foolish.

J is for Jung

Carl Jung is known in Psychology as the founder of Analytical Psychology.

He used to be best buddies with Freud and then had a falling out. Jung theorised about collective unconscious and archetypes amongst the other things. He was one of the first who described the distinction between introversion and extroversion.

This is one of my favourite quotes from Jung:

“In all chaos there is cosmos, in all disorder a secret order”

K is for Knowledge

I believe that acquring knowledge gives some purpose to life.

There is always knowledge to gain, no matter how much you have experienced or read.

Pretending that you know everything is ignorance.

L is for Lithuania

My home country, the land of beer, potatoes and basketball. I lived there for about ten years or so.

M is for Maths

I thought it would hilarious to include this nemesis of mine, mathematics.

Something that I wish I was good at, after all maths is a wonderful skill to have in life, especially in terms of career. Unfortunately, my maths skills are quite poor.

I was more like your typical English Literature student in secondary school.

N is for Noodles

The beauty of noodles is that they can be bedazzled with anything.

I have recently learned how to use chopsticks properly, so now I don’t have to look like a fool in Wagamama. Ramen, get in my belly!

O is for Over-thinking

Most of my problems stem from over-thinking. Negative thoughts, catastrophizing – you name it.

My mind is my worst enemy, it’s like a wild horse that’s difficult to control.

P is for Psychology

I have studied Psychology for a while, it’s fascinating. Oh yeah, I graduate next month with a 2.1 degree! Then I shall be studying Masters in Psychological Research Methods.

Trust me, if I got £1 for every time someone asked me if I’m training to be a Psychologist, I could probably buy a car or something from that by now.

Q is for Quizzes

You know those ridiculous quizzes like ‘what flower are you?’ or ‘what kind of breakfast cereal are you?’ well, when I’m bored they are a useless great way to spend the time.

R is for Red

Red is my favourite colour, wearing red makes me feel like a confident warrior.

S is for Sheep

My astrological sign is Aries and I also have a little thing for sheep, I think that they are adorable. I used to collect little sheep figurines and toys when I was younger.

They look like little clouds of fluff!

T is for Textiles

I have done a textiles GCSE because I wanted to be a fashion designer (yup that never happened).

I do want to get back to sewing though, making clothes from scratch seems like so much fun.

U is for University

University has been a key part of my life. I met my partner at university, in the same course.

I have practically moved out to live in the university town, learned about myself and gained skills to last me a lifetime.

V is for Volunteering

I have done about 3 years of volunteering in a charity shop. It was fantastic experience, I got to meet and work with wonderful people.

If you have any time to spare, I’d recommend volunteering.

W is for Writing

Writing is the best outlet for expressing whatever is on my mind.

Wonderful worlds can be born through a simple touch of pen on paper.

X is for X-ray

Once upon a time, when I was an idiot child, I thought that it would be a great idea to be catapulted into the air from someone’s feet.

I flew like a bird in the air for few seconds but then landed on the grass with my elbow and broke it.

That’s when I had my first x-ray.

Y is for Yo

I reserve the greeting ‘Yo’ for my buddies.

Z is for Zero-sugar

Zero-sugar finds in supermarkets fill me with joy.

There is nothing better than having snack/drink options that don't require constant insulin injections and guilt.

So here's the A to Z of me. Do we have anything in common? Let me know in the comments. Have a wonderful week and take care!

  2. What a fun post! I've never actually seen one like this before so it's so good to get to know a blogger better, I'm really tempted to do my own. I also am a huge lover of coffee and the colour red! I also did textiles at GCSE and miss it so much, it's been so long since I've sat at my sewing machine!

I totally agree with facemasks... it's so relaxing!
I also think knowledge is something important: you never stop learning. That's something you'll do all your life and I love to imagine that there are so many things I don't know YET!
Wow I'm impressed with your voluntering in a charity shop! I did voluntering for association at the university or took part to projects to raise money, but I didn't get the chance to work in a charity shop :) For nex time! ;)
